November Playwriting Challenge

/

It’s Been Awhile

It’s been a long time since I’ve added to this space. I’ve directed a lot, tried my hand at recapping (something I’d like to go back to at some point.) But one of the things I’ve been the most proud of in 2025 is my participation in New York Theatre Festival with my play “The Leopard and the Lynx” it was exhilarating to see my work done on a larger stage. And then to tie for best play as well as winning best play and best actor, was a real dream! It’s made me want to dedicate more time to playwriting. But life gets in the way as it does often and I haven’t been able to work on as much as I’d like to and I’ve found myself tenuous about how to restart.

Enter the November Playwriting Challenge sponsored by Threshold Theater. I’ve bet a small amount of money on myself that I can write every day in November. I can write based off the prompt given, I can also do my own ideas and own work. While I don’t have to publicly post writing, I think it might be a great idea to help me on my never ending fight against my imposter syndrome.

So if you’d like to sign up to get updates every day and read what I’m writing and keep me accountable I would absolutely adore that! Or if you’re already getting them emailed and you’ve been waiting on bated breath for more VOB, it’s happening! You’ll get your first writing tomorrow!

I would describe my style and attitude as…

A cross between Iris Apfel, Miriam Margoles, Lucille Ball. But I am a devoted maximalist through and through. Although, as another inspiration once said

Style—all who have it share one thing: originality.
